No Phthalate of Any Kind: Many conventional nail polishes contain a highly toxic chemical - phthalate. Phthalate, or more specifically, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), has been proven by research studies, to interfere with normal hormone balance. The absorption of DBP can cause severe birth defects & other health problems. Phthalate is a very effective and popular plasticizer that gives nail polish its flexibility. It can also prevent polish from cracking etc. Phthalate has low chemical volatility (meaning it will not evaporate). Once conventional polish is applied to our nails the phthalate chemical can be absorbed into our bodies, possibly leading to imbalances in our health.
Formaldehyde-free: Many regular nail polishes have formaldehyde-releasing ingredients. Formaldehyde has been reported as a carcinogenic chemical.
